Financial Markets, Housing Foreclosures, Collapse?

A mid-March Yahoo News story from Huntington Post grabbed my attention at the same time the news out of New York and Washington was all about saving "Wall Street and Main Street." Saving them from what? Well, from themselves, I guessed.

The round-about, on-line story comes from Jane Smiley, HuffPo Blogger, and Daniel Gross, Cornell-educated journalist. Here it is: American corporate managers and financiers have become incompetent and incapable of managing the large complex systems they have created. This is the verdict of the rest of the world and is a basic reason for the plunging dollar. As she gears up for a spirited rant, Jane Smiley uses the phrase "laughingstock of the world" in describing the hapless failures who preside over the U.S. business economy.

Before I try building a personal rant from this inspiration, it is time to pause and reflect.

to be continued...
